The Best Self-Help Book for Personal Growth

Sometimes we all need to read books that can help us find more meaning in life, or simply telling us that everything will be ok. The book I bought last week had a different message: You can achieve your dreams and still feel lost in life. The book is called “Achieving for Nothing” by Matt Stone.

I found this message really refreshing. I am a bit tired of those basic books that tell you everything will be alright, or those that claim that it’s always better to put on a happy face and smile. By contrast, Achieving for Nothing gives the message that you can do everything well, get to where you want to be, and still feel that most of those things are superfluous and empty in a way.

A good example that came to my mind when reading the book was graduating high school. You put a lot of effort into that particular goal, you are very happy when you achieve it and can finally relax a bit, but right away you understand that this gives you nothing of value and that you need to get ready for college. That feeling gets addressed in the book together with more complex ideas about life that are spot on. I thought sharing this book with you would be of help in these strange times we are living. Take care and stay safe!
